THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A GIRLFRIEND AND WIFE



1- Wife completes half of our Deen.
    Girlfriend destroys even half the Deen.

2-Wife fulfills our wishes as her dream. Girlfriend wants to fulfill her demand as a Compulsory duty.

3-Wife loves us freely without being selfish.Girlfriend pretends to love us selfishly.

4-When wife demands something & we forget to bring. She says " No matter ". But a Girlfriend will scold to be forgetful.

5-When we get late. Our wives get worried & want to know about us. But a Girlfriend pretends to care only when we are before her.

6-wife first asks about our welfare but Girlfriend first asks about her Gifts.

7-Wife helps us & save us from many evils. But a Girlfriend engages us in many Evils.

8-Wife loves us even in the worst times of our life, but Girlfriend will leave us in the lurch.

9-Wife tries her best to understand our mistakes n problems but Girlfriend doesn't.

10- wife is always ready to do anything 4 us, but not girlfriend.

11- Wife is our permanent Lover, but girlfriends are temporary.

REMEMBER!!!

1. He who enters the grave without any amal (good deeds), is like a person who can’t swim being thrown into an ocean.
2. The honor of this world might lie in wealth but the honor of the hereafter definitely lies on amal.
3. Worrying for this world brings darkness to one’s heart but the worry of the hereafter brings Nur (light) to the heart.
4. He who seeks for (Islamic) knowledge, he becomes the seeker of paradise. But he who seeks for sins, he becomes the seeker of hell-fire.
5. Noble is one who protects himself from the disobedience of His Lord. Clever is one who give preference to the hereafter more than this world.
6. He who does sins laughingly, will enter hell-fire while crying. He who does good deeds and cry due to the fear of Allah, will enter paradise laughingly.
7. Small sins are not small when one is regular on it. Big sins are not big when one stops doing it and seeks repentance for it.
8. Desires make kings to become slaves. Patience makes slaves into kings.
(have you not read the story of Nabi Yusuf and Zulaikha?)
9. Remember these 3 things well;
a) whatever you acquire in this world, you have to leave this world one day.
b) whoever you befriend, you will have to leave him one day.
c) whatever you do here, you will be accountable for it there.
10. He who has no manners, has no knowledge. He who has no patience, has no deen (religion).
11. Three things will destroy you; excessive talk, excessive food, excessive sleep.
12. Leave this world before the world leaves you. Welcome the grave before the grave welcomes you. He who will love to meet Allah, Allah will love to meet him.

PURPOSE OF LIFE



The most important question in life is ‘Why are we here?’

Well, why are we here? To amass fame and fortune? To make music and babies? To be the richest man or woman in the graveyard for, as we are jokingly told, ‘He who dies with the most toys wins?’

No, there must be more to life than that, so let’s think about this.To begin with, look around you. Unless you live in a cave, you are surrounded by things we humans have made with our own hands.Now, why did we make those things? The answer, of course, is that we make things to perform some specific function for us.In short, we make things to serve us.So by extension, why did God make us, if not to serve Him?

If we acknowledge our Creator, and that He created humankind to serve Him, the next question is, ‘How? How do we serve Him?’ No doubt, this question is best answered by the One who made us.If He created us to serve Him, then He expects us to function in a particular manner, if we are to achieve our purpose.But how can we know what that manner is? How can we know what God expects from us?

Well, consider this: God gave us light, by which we can find our way.Even at night, we have the moon for light and the stars for navigation.God gave other animals guidance systems best suited for their conditions and needs.Migrating birds can navigate, even on overcast days, by how light is polarized as it passes through the clouds.Whales migrate by ‘reading’ the Earth’s magnetic fields.Salmon return from the open ocean to spawn at the exact spot of their birth bysmell, if that can be imagined.Fish sense distant movements through pressure receptors that line their bodies.Bats and blind river dolphins ‘see’ by sonar.Certain marine organisms (the electric eel being a high-voltage example) generate and ‘read’ magnetic fields, allowing them to ‘see’ in muddy waters, or in the blackness of ocean depths.Insects communicate by pheromones.Plants sense sunlight and grow towards it (phototrophism); their roots sense gravity and grow into the earth (geotrophism).In short, God has gifted every element of His creation with guidance.Can we seriously believe he would not give us guidance on the one most important aspect of our existence, namely ourraison d’etreour reason for being? That he would not give us the tools by which to achieve salvation?

So what does the Creator, God, tell us about our purpose in life? God states in the Quran that He created the human to be His trustee on earth. Mankind’s basic trust, our responsibility, is to believe in and worship God:

And I did not create the jinn and humankind except to worship Me’¦ [Quran 51:56-58]



Very simple! The purpose for man’s creation is to worship the Creator. The Islamic understanding of worship allows the whole of one’s life to be an act of worship, as long as the objective of that life is the pleasure of God, which is achieved by doing good and refraining from evil. A person can turn everyday activities into acts of worship by purifying his or her intention and sincerely seeking God’s pleasure through these activities. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:

Greeting a person is charity. Acting justly is charity. Helping a man with his steed is charity. A good word is charity. Every step taken on the way to performing prayers is charity. Removing an obstacle from the road is charity.

Worship provides the believers with many benefits that contribute to both their spiritual and worldly well-being. The human body needs material resources for its existence, like food, drink, and a means of reproduction. As for the soul, its needs cannot be fulfilled except through nearness to God by means of faith and obedience, which can only be achieved through worship.

God should be worshipped in times of hardship and times of prosperity and only through his remembrance can the human being find inner peace:

We truly know how your heart is distressed by what they say. So celebrate the praises of your Lord and be of those who prostrate themselves and worship your Lord until the sure hour (of death). [Quran 15:99] those who have faith and whose hearts find peace in the remembrance of God- truly it is in the remembrance of God that hearts find peace [Quran 13:28]

God further states that He made this life in order to test man so that every person may be recompensed after death for what he has earned:

[He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed – and He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving. [Quran, 67:2]

But in order to worship Him, we have to know Him well otherwise we may form a distorted concept of Him and then go astray. In the Quran, God tells humankind what He is and what He is not. For example, in response to a question about God that was posed to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), God says:

Say (O Muhammad): He is God [Who is] One, God, the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is born, nor is there to Him any equivalent. [Quran, 112]

In Islam God is nothing like a human being or like anything that we can imagine and he is the only one worthy of worship.

81 WAYS TO WIN YOUR WIFE'S LOVE

Marriage is a blessed contract between a man and a woman, in which each becomes “permitted” to the other, and they begin the long journey of life in a spirit of love, co operation, harmony and tolerance, where each feels at ease with the other, and finds tranquillity, contentment and comfort in the company of the other. The Qur’an has described this relationship between men and women, which brings love, harmony, trust and compassion, in the most moving and eloquent terms

Among His signs is [the fact] that He has created spouses for you among yourselves so that you may dwell in tranquility with them, and He has planted love and mercy between you; In that are signs for people who reflect. [Quran 20:30]

This is the strongest of bonds, in which Allah (SWT) unites the two Muslim partners, who come together on the basis of love, understanding, co-operation and mutual advice, and establish a. Muslim family in which children will live and grow up, and they will develop the good character and behaviour taught by Islam. The Muslim family is the strongest component of a Muslim society when its members are productive and constructive, helping and encouraging one another to be good and righteous, and competing with one another in good works. The righteous woman is the pillar, cornerstone and foundation of the Muslim family. She is seen as the greatest joy in a man’s life, as the Prophet (Peace be upon him) said:

“This world is just temporary conveniences, and the best comfort in this world is a righteous women.” Sahih Muslim 10/56, Kitab al-rida’, bab istihbab nikah al-bikr.

Allah informs us about the just rights of each other on us:

The wife’s rights (with regard to their husbands) are equal to the (husband’s) rights with regard to them, although men are a degree above them; and Allah is Almighty, Wise. [Quran 2:28]

“Consort with them graciously. If you dislike them, it may be that you dislike something in which Allah has placed much good. (4:20)“

In today’s life of hustle and bustle, the family unit is becoming fragile by the day. Divorces are on the rise, and Muslims can no longer claim, as justifiably as before, that divorce is rare among Muslims or even much less than incidents of divorce among non-Muslims.

Let’s take on the men first, here’s how you can keep up your wife’s love:

1. Make her feel secure, don’t threaten her with divorce.
2. Give sincere Salaams.
3. Treat her gently, like a fragile vessel.
4. Advise in private, at the best time, in the best way and atmosphere.
5. Be generous with her.
6. Warm the seat for her, you will warm her heart.
7. Avoid anger, be in Wudhu at all times.
8. Look good and smell great for your wife.
9. Don’t be rigid or harsh-hearted or you will be broken.
10. Be a good listener.
11. Yes for flattery. No for arguing.
12. Call your wife with the best names, cute nicknames, and names she loves to hear.
13. A pleasant surprise.
14. Preserve and guard the tongue.
15. Expect, accept, and overlook her shortcomings.
16. Give sincere compliments.
17. Encourage her to keep good relations with her family.
18. Speak of the topic of her interest.
19. Express to her relatives, how wonderful she is.
20. Give each other gifts.
21. Get rid of routine, surprise her.
22. Have a good opinion of each other.
23. Have good manners, overlook small things, don’t nitpick.
24. Add a drop of patience, increase during pregnancy, menses.
25. Expect and respect her jealously.
26. Be humble.
27. Sacrifice your happiness for hers.
28. Help at home, with housework.
29. Help her love your relatives, but don’t try to force her.
30. Let her know that she is the ideal wife for you.
31. Remember your wife in Du’a.
32. Leave the past for Allah, don’t dwell on, dig into, or bring it up.
33. Don’t act as if you are doing her a favor by working or providing, Allah is the Provider, the husband is the carrier of the sustenance to the family.
34. Take Shaitan as your enemy, not your wife.
35. Put food in your wife’s mouth.
36. Treat your wife like she is the most precious pearl that you want to protect.
37. Show her your smile.
38. Don’t ignore the small things, deal with them before they be come big.
39. Avoid being harsh-hearted.
40. Respect and show that you appreciate her thinking.
41. Help her to find and build her inner strengths and skills.
42. Respect that she might not be in mood for intimacy, stay within Halaal boundaries.
43. Help her take care of the children.
44. Give her gifts with your tongue, be an artist with your compliments.
45. Sit down and eat meals together.
46. Let her know that you will be traveling or returning from travel, give her sufficient notice.
47. Don’t leave home in anger.
48. Maintain the secrecy and privacy of the home.
49. Encourage each other in worship.
50. Respect and fulfill her rights upon you.
51. Live with her in kindness, goodness, fairness in good and bad times.
52. Kiss your wife, foreplay, don’t jump on her like a bull.
53. Keep disputes between the two of you, don’t take it outside.
54. Show care for her health and well-being.
55. Remember you are not always right or perfect yourself.
56. Share your happiness and sadness with her.
57. Have mercy for her weaknesses.
58. Be a firm support for her to lean on.
59. Accept her as is, she is a package deal.
60. Have a good intention for her.
61. Cook a dish for her.
62. Designate a nice, clean, spacious area in your home for the two of you to pray at night whenever you can.
63. Women love flowers. Make a trail of them on the floor leading to the gift you made for her.
64. Give her a nice massage when she least expects it.
65. Send your wife a text message out of the blue with a message of love.
66. Send your wife an email without a reason.
67. Go out on a date or a get-away for the weekend in a nice location, preferably without kids.
68. Do something for your wife’s family, whether it is a gift, or a chat with her teen brother who needs mentoring, or whatever. It will get you lots of brownie points.
69. Do not keep reminding and demanding your rights all the time.
70. Shop groceries for her and call her from the store and ask her what she needs for the home, for herself or for her to give to people as gifts.
71. Ask her if she would like to invite her female friends over for ladies only get together and arrange for the dinner.
72. Ask her to send gifts to her parents and siblings.
73. Help her parents pay off debt. Send her poor relatives some money.
74. Write love notes or poems and place them in the book she’s been reading.
75. If she tells you something she had just learned from the Qur’an or Hadith, do not dismiss her or ridicule her effort, instead listen to her and take her word.
76. Plant her a kitchen garden with all kind of herbs she needs for cooking.
78. Update her PC or laptop with a new one or get her a new mobile phone.
79. Learn to do a special massage technique and surprise her with your new expertise.
80. Teach your children to respect and honor their mother.
81. Be humorous with her when she makes a mistake in the kitchen (like when she put too much salt or burnt her baking)

15 Rewarding Ways for Sadaqah Jariyah (ongoing charity) in Islam :

Sadaqah jariyah is ongoing charity (continuous rewards) received by us (for good actions and deeds), that will not only benefit us in this life, but will continue to benefit us after our death.

Abu Huraira (RadhiAllahu ‘anhu) reported: Allah’s Messenger ﷺ as saying: When a man dies, his acts come to an end, but three, recurring charity or knowledge (by which people) benefit, or a pious son, who prays for him (for the deceased). [Sahih Muslim - Book 13 - Hadith 4005]

Allah SWT says: “… and spend something (in charity) out of the provision which we have bestowed you, before death should come to any of you and he should say, o my Rabb! Why do you not give me respite for a little while? I should then have given (largely) in charity, and I should have been one of the doers of good.” (Qur’an, 63:10)

Below given are some good actions and deeds that which will outlive you Insha Allah :

1. Donate and/or actively participate in building of a Mosque.

2. Building or donating to build an Orphanage.

3. Raising, full or part sponsoring an orphan. ( Orphan Sponsorship )

4. Teach someone to recite Quran, and everytime they recite quran, you will get hasanat, even after your death. And if your student teaches quran to another person, and everytime this other person read Qur’an, you still will get hasanat from his recitation, even after you have long died until the end of this world.

5. Give copies of the Holy Quran and each time they read from it, you will receive Hasanat.

6. Donating to build a school. When the students use the knowledge they receive from the school, you get hasanat, even after you have died.

7. Give away Islamic reading materials.

8. Teach someone to recite Dua and/or Dhikr ( Remembrance of Allah ) and each time it is recited, you will gain Hasanat.

9. Share via online or give Dua or Quran CDs and every time it is recited you will gain Hasanat.

10. Donate wheel chair to Hospital and when sick persons use it you will gain Hasanat.

11. Building or donating to build a Dispensary, Hospital

12. Help a child to continue his or her Education.

13. Donate to dig and build water wells or construct water tanks and when people use this well or tank you will receive Hasanat. ( Help build water wells or construct water tanks )

14. Plant trees or donate for this cause, each time people or animals sits under the shade or eats from these trees, we will gain hasanat, even after you have died.

15. Place a water cooler in a public place. Each time people drink water from it, you will gain hasanat.

Abu Huraira (Radhiallahu anhu) reported: Allah’s Messenger (salAllahu alayhi wa sallam) as saying: He who called (people) to righteousness, there would be reward (assured) for him like the rewards of those who adhered to it, without their rewards being diminished in any respect. [Sahih Muslim - Book #034 - Hadith #6470]

“The likeness of those who spend their wealth in the Way of Allah, is as the likeness of a grain (of corn); it grows seven ears, and each ear has a hundred grains. Allah gives manifold increase to whom He pleases. And Allah is All-Sufficient, All-Knower.” [Al-Baqarah 2:261]

May Allah swt make us among the Believers who will gain such Hasanath equal to the ink that may be used in recording the words for Allah’s Praise. Ameen.

GLORIOUS MONTH COMING TO AN END




Its a pity this month of bonanza is going and I bet u, many have not taken even the minimum benefit of it.

It is worthy to note that Romodhon has come to serve as a lubricant to our faith and refresh our spiritual relationship with Allah The Most High...and some still remain, at best, how dey were before romodhon, and at worst, worst than ever before.

The prophet of  Allah (PBUH), in an authentic ahdith, has cursed those who have witnessed this month of bliss and still gain no forgiveness of Allah in it.

It is sad to hear how people claimed to love islam and still find christian ways of life more appealing to them, when Allah clearly states in d Quran "enter into the religion of islam wholeheartedly...".

It hurts to see an acclaimed muslim  loves to do only what pleases him/her heart in Allah's commandments and finds thousands of excuses for abandoning the rest, when Allah says "would you believe part (of our commandments) and disbelieve part? Honourable ulamah, its important we sit and ponder, reconcile our accounts with that of Allah and make necessary corrections for the prophet(PBUH) said "every son of Adam errs and d best or those that err is one who turns back to Allah in repentance...".

 The little remaining is enough to pilot our ways to jannah.

Please, let's open our hearts for Allah to penetrate and let's be a proud ambassador of Allah on earth and a distinct representative of this beautiful religion of islam during and after romodhon.

This may be mine or your last on earth. May Allah accept all our deeds as an act of 'ibadah.

Guide to Better Life




1. Don't compare your life to others'. You have no idea what their journey is all about.

2. Don't have negative thoughts of things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment

3. Don't over do; keep your limits

4. Don't take yourself so seriously; no one else does

5. Don't waste your precious energy on gossip

6. Dream more while you are awake

7. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.

8. Forget issues of the past. Don't remind your partner of his/her mistakes of the past. That will ruin your present happiness.

9. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone. Don't hate others.

10. Make peace with your past so it won't spoil the present

11. No one is in charge of your happiness except you

12. Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn.  Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away like algebra class but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime.

13. Smile and laugh more

14. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree

15. Call your family often

16. Each day give something good to others

17. Forgive everyone for everything

18. Spend time with people over the age of 70 under the age of 6

19. Try to make at least three people smile each day

20. What other people think of you is none of your business

21. Your job will not take care of you when you are sick. Your family and friends will. Stay in touch.

22. Put GOD first in anything and everything that you think, say and do.

23. GOD heals everything

24. Do the right things

25. Whatever good or bad a situation is, it will change

26. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up

27. The best is yet to come

28. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful

29. When you awake alive in the morning, thank Allah for it

30. If you know Allah you will always be happy. So, be happy.

EXANSION OF THE UNIVERSE




In 1929, American Astronomer, Edwin Hubble proposed a concept about the Size of the Universe. He said, "_ The Universe is Expanding_"...
This was considered as one of the greatest concept of 20th Century....

But,

Al Quran says,
"*وَالسَّمَاءَ بَنَيْنَاهَا بِأَيْدٍ وَإِنَّا لَمُوسِعُون*َ "
"_And the heaven we constructed with strength_, and indeed, We are (its) Expander...
   -Al Quran (51:47)

1400 years beforeHubble proposed the Concept "Expanding of the Universe" , Alquran said about that. This is clearly says, Alquran is from Allmighty God, Allah (Subhanahu wata'la)...

"_and we have revealed the Best to you explaining clearly Everything_ ....."
     - Alquran (16:89)

WAR AND ANARCHY THE SIGNS OF THE LAST DAY



In the social media, surprising things people's like to judge or write whatever they want to blame and point out others sin meanwhile they just "Rocking Their Feet"!

There are a number of verses of the Qur'an relevant to this subject. In [Surat ar-Rum,] Allah reveals that confusion has come upon the earth because of what human beings have wrought:

Corruption has appeared in both land and sea because of what people's own hands have brought about so that they may taste something of what they have done so that hopefully they will turn back.
(Surat ar-Rum: 41)

In the Qur'an, Allah reveals that human beings have brought evil upon themselves. The problems in the world today are proofs of this.

We must add that this verse is to remind us of a very important truth. The pain and misery that arises from the mistakes human beings make are a kind of opportunity to assist them in turning away from these errors.

In a hadith, the Prophet (salallahu alayhi wasalam) described the End Times in this way:

Allah's Messenger (salallahu alayhi wasalam) said: "The Harj (will increase)." They asked, "What is the Harj?" He replied, "(It is) killing (murdering), (it is) murdering (killing)."
[Bukhari]

The Hour (Last Day) will not be established until murder will increase. [Bukhari]

When we examine the End Times in the light of the information related above, we come up with a surprising conclusion.
The meaning of harj mentioned in the above hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (salallahu alayhi wasalam) is "utter confusion" and "disorder" which is not to be limited to one particular area, but will be widespread throughout the world.

The signs that the Prophet (salallahu alayhi wasalam) described in detail are occurring one after the other in every corner of the world, just in the way they were described in the age in which we live. It is so that the hadiths paint a perfect portrait of our time. This is indeed a miracle, and demands careful consideration. Every sign that occurs is to remind people once again that the Last Day is very near, a day when they will give account of themselves in the Presence of Allah, and therefore, that they should immediately apply the moral values of the Qur'an to their lives.

Again, on this topic, the following words of the Prophet (salallahu alayhi wasalam) have come down to us:

The Hour will come when violence, bloodshed, and anarchy become common
[Al-Muttaqi Al-Hindi, Muntakhab Kanzul Ummaal]

The world will not come to an end until a day would come to the people on which there will be general massacre and bloodshed
[Muslim]

We are led to an important conclusion. The Prophet (salallahu alayhi wasalam) described conflicts, disorder, murder, war to involve the whole earth, and outbreaks of terror, and revealed that these events are signs of the Last Day.

The fact that the signs related in the hadiths of the Messenger of Allah (salallahu alayhi wasalam) are coming true, and the fact that our world is full of scenes like these is a warning for humanity to return to the moral teaching of the Qur'an.

Within the world's recent history, acts of terror have, time and again, fomented disorder. Much blood has been shed and countless innocent people have been maimed or killed. But still humanity has not learned its lesson from these events condemned by all Muslims.

It can be understood from the hadiths that the increase in the amount of evil people, the fact those people regarded as trustworthy are liars, and the fact that some who are regarded as liars are actually trustworthy, are characteristics of the End Times.

There will be years of deceit, in which a truthful person will be disbelieved and a liar will be believed
[Ibn Kathir]

A hadith reveals that people will curse and swear at each other:

In the Last Days, there will be such people, who, when they meet, curse and abuse each other instead of greeting (with salaam).
(Allama Jalaluddin Suyuti, Durre-Mansoor)

In short, Please Brother and Sister, we are now living in that age of confusion and disorder also times of fitna in which yet another sign of the End Times is manifested. This sign is a stern warning that people should begin immediately to live their lives according to the moral teachings of the Qur'an. Ask ourselves! Whereas we only know how to blame and finger pointing to others!

WAS ISLAM SPREAD BY THE SWORD?



Question:
How can Islam be called the religion of peace when it was spread by the sword?

Answer:
It is a common complaint among some non-Muslims that Islam would not have millions of adherents all over the world, if it had not been spread by the use of force. The following points will make it clear, that far from being spread by the sword, it was the inherent force of truth, reason and logic that was responsible
for the rapid spread of Islam.

1. Islam means peace.
Islam comes from the root word ‘salaam’, which means peace. It also means submitting one’s will to Allah (swt). Thus Islam is a religion of peace, which is acquired by submitting one’s will to the will of the Supreme Creator, Allah (swt).

2. Sometimes force has to be used to maintain peace.
Each and every human being in this world is not in favour of maintaining peace and harmony. There are many, who would disrupt it for their own vested interests. Sometimes force has to be used to maintain peace. It is precisely for this reason that we have the police who use force against criminals and antisocial elements to maintain peace in the country. Islam promotes peace. At the
same time, Islam exhorts it followers to fight where there is oppression. The fight against oppression may, at times, require the use of force. In Islam force can only be used to promote peace and justice.

3. Opinion of historian De Lacy O’Leary.
The best reply to the misconception that Islam was spread by the sword is given by the noted historian De Lacy O’Leary in the book “Islam at the cross road” (Page 8):
“History makes it clear however, that the legend of fanatical Muslims sweeping through the world and forcing Islam at the point of the sword upon conquered races is one of the most fantastically absurd myth that historians have ever repeated.”

4. Muslims ruled Spain for 800 years.
Muslims ruled Spain for about 800 years. The Muslims in Spain never used the sword to force the people to convert. Later the Christian Crusaders came to Spain and wiped out the Muslims. There was not a single Muslim in Spain who could openly give the adhan, that is the call for prayers.

5. 14 million Arabs are Coptic Christians.
Muslims were the lords of Arabia for 1400 years. For a few years the British ruled, and for a few years the French ruled. Overall, the Muslims ruled Arabia for 1400 years. Yet today, there are 14 million Arabs who are Coptic Christians i.e. Christians since generations. If the Muslims had used the sword there would not have been a single Arab who would have remained a Christian.

6. More than 80% non-Muslims in India.
The Muslims ruled India for about a thousand years. If they wanted, they had the power of converting each and every non-Muslim of India to Islam. Today more than 80% of the population of India are non-Muslims. All these non-Muslim Indians are bearing witness today that Islam was not spread by the sword.

Indonesia is a country that has the maximum number of Muslims in the world. The majority of people in Malaysia are Muslims. May one ask, “Which Muslim army went to Indonesia and Malaysia?”

Similarly, Islam has spread rapidly on the East Coast of Africa. One may again ask, if Islam was spread by the sword, “Which Muslim army went to the East Coast of Africa?”

9. Thomas Carlyle.
The famous historian, Thomas Carlyle, in his book “Heroes and Hero worship”, refers to this misconception about the spread of Islam: “The sword indeed, but where will you get your sword? Every new opinion, at its starting is precisely in a minority of one. In one man’s head alone. There it dwells as yet. One man alone of the whole world believes it, there is one man against all men. That he
takes a sword and try to propagate with that, will do little for him. You must get your sword! On the whole, a thing will propagate itself as it can.”

In 2004, USDA scientists investigated over 100 foods to measure their antioxidant concentration per serving size. Two apples—Red Delicious and Granny Smith—ranked 12th and 13th respectively. Research has shown that people who eat fruits and other high-fiber foods gain a certain amount of protection against Parkinson’s, a disease characterized by a breakdown of the brain’s dopamine-producing nerve cells. Scientists have linked this to the free radical-fighting power of the antioxidants contained therein.

4. Curb all sorts of cancers


Scientists from the American Association for Cancer Research, among others, agree that the consumption of flavonol-rich apples could help reduce your risk of developing pancreatic cancer by up to 23 per cent. Researchers at Cornell University have identified several compounds—triterpenoids—in apple peel that have potent anti-growth activities against cancer cells in the liver, colon and breast. Their earlier research found that extracts from whole apples can reduce the number and size of mammary tumors in rats. Meanwhile, the National Cancer Institute in the U.S. has recommended a high fiber intake to reduce the risk of colorectal cancer.

5. Decrease your risk of diabetes

Women who eat at least one apple a day are 28 percent less likely to develop type 2 diabetes than those who don’t eat apples. Apples are loaded with soluble fiber, the key to blunting blood sugar swings.

6. Reduce cholesterol


The soluble fiber found in apples binds with fats in the intestine, which translates into lower cholesterol levels and a healthier you.

7. Get a healthier heart


An extensive body of research has linked high soluble fiber intake with a slower buildup of cholesterol-rich plaque in your arteries. The phenolic compound found in apple skins also prevents the cholesterol that gets into your system from solidifying on your artery walls. When plaque builds inside your arteries, it reduces blood flow to your heart, leading to coronary artery disease.

Confidence Building Story

A teenager lived alone with his father, and the two of them had a very special relationship. The father believed in encouragement. Even though the son was always on the bench, his father was always in the stands cheering. He never missed a game.
This young man was the smallest of the class when he entered high school.
His father continued to encourage him but also made it very clear that he did not have to play football if he didn't want to.

But the young man loved football and decided to hang in there. He was determined to try his best at every practice, and perhaps he would get to play when he became a senior.
All through high school he never missed a practice or a game, but remained a bench warmer all four years. His faithful father was always in the stands, always with words of encouragement for him. When the young man went to college, he decided to try out for the football team as a "walk-on."
Everyone was sure he could never make the cut, but he did. The coach admitted that he kept him on the roster because he always puts his heart and soul to every practice, and at the same time, provided the other members with the spirit and hustle they badly needed. The news that he had survived the cut thrilled him so much that he rushed to the nearest phone and called his father.
His father shared his excitement and was sent season tickets for all the college games. This persistent young athlete never missed practice during his four years at college, but he never got to play in the game.

It was the end of his senior football season, and as he trotted onto the practice field shortly before the big play off game, the coach met him with a telegram. The young man read the telegram and he became deathly silent.
Swallowing hard, he mumbled to the coach, "My father died this morning. Is it all right if I miss practice today?"
The coach put his arm gently around his shoulder and said, "Take the rest of the week off, son. And don't even plan to come back to the game on Saturday." Saturday arrived, and the game was not going well.

In the third quarter, when the team was ten points behind, a silent young man quietly slipped into the empty locker room and put on his football gear. As he ran onto the sidelines, the coach and his players were astounded to see their faithful team-mate back so soon.
"Coach, please let me play. I have just got to play today," said the young man.
The coach pretended not to hear him. There was no way he wanted his worst player in this close playoff game. But the young man persisted, and finally feeling sorry for young man, the coach gave in. "All right," he said. "You can go in." Before long, the coach, the players and everyone in the stands could not believe their eyes. This little unknown, who had never played before, was doing everything right. The opposing team could not stop him. He ran, he passed, blocked and tackled like a star. His team began to triumph.

The score was soon tied. In the closing seconds of the game, this young man intercepted a pass and ran all the way for the winning touchdown. The fans broke loose. His team-mates hoisted him onto their shoulders. Such cheering you have never heard!
Finally, after the stands had emptied and the team had showered and left the locker room, the coach noticed that the young man was sitting quietly in the corner all alone. The coach came to him and said, "Young man, I can't believe it. You were fantastic! Tell me what got into you? How did you do it?"
Young man looked at the coach, with tears in his eyes, and said, "Well, you knew my dad died, but did you know that my dad was blind?" The young man swallowed hard and forced a smile, "Dad came to all my games, but today was the first time he could see me play, and I wanted to show him I could do it!"

Melons and Human being

Melons belong to the Cucurbitaceae family and are enjoyed by both adults as well as children. The well-known varieties of melons include watermelon, muskmelon, honeydew melon, and bitter melon. Melon juice is not only a great thirst quencher, it also helps ease inflammations and other symptoms caused by a variety of diseases such as diabetes, asthma, arthritis, colon cancer, and atherosclerosis. Melon juice contains a number of vital antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and other nutrients that are essential for the proper functioning of the human body.

Cantaloupe also provides our bodies with tons of fiber that is very good for maintaining healthy weights and blood sugar levels. The second melon we will talk about is the watermelon. I am sure everyone has some idea of what watermelon is right? Watermelon is that big 5 pound oval shaped melon with a green rind and the pink juicy melon in the center with black seeds that is super sweet and watery. The fouth melon I will tell you about is bitter melon. Bitter melon is a plant. The fruit and seeds are used to make medicine.

What Goes Around Comes Around

It is a law of nature that whatever action we take in this world, there is always a reaction. If we do well, we stand to gain a good reward. If we do badly, we should expect a bad outcome ultimately. "What you sow, so you reap," is a popular saying.

The Noble Qur'an has also guided us on this subject, it says: "If you do good, you do good to yourselves. Likewise, if you do evil, you do evil to yourselves." (17:7)
One of the companions of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was very fond of this verse of the Noble Qur'an. He used to recite it loudly and repeatedly wherever he went.

A Jewish woman who had heard him once wanted to prove him wrong and thus make him unpopular among his people. She thought up a plot against him. She prepared some sweets mixed with poison and sent them to him as a present. When he received them, he went out of the city taking sweets with him. On the way, he met two men who were returning home from a long journey. They appeared tired and hungry, so he thought of doing them a good turn. He offered them the sweets. Of course, he was not aware that they were secretly mixed with poison. No sooner had the two travelers taken the sweets, they collapsed and died.

When the news of their death reached Medina, the city where the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) resided, the man was arrested. He was brought in front of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and he related what had actually happened. The Jewish woman, who had mixed poison with the sweets, was also brought to the court of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW). She was stunned to see the two dead bodies of the travelers there. They in fact turned out to be her two sons who had gone away on a journey.

She admitted her evil intention before the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and all the people present. Alas, the poison she had mixed in the sweets to kill the companion of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) had instead killed her own two sons.

What a splendid example of a tragic reaction to a bad action; It shows how one reaps what he sows. "Do as you would be done by," are the words of wisdom from the learned and wise men of the past. They teach us to do well to others in the same way as we like others to do good to us.

THE NATURE OF IRU DELICACY AND MEDICINAL BENEFITS


           The wonderful locust bean also known as carob bean.The scientific name is 'Parkia biglobosa, Family Leguminosae: Mimosoideae" while the Hausa speaking inhabitants of the area call it "Daddawa". and iru                                                          in Yoruba is a polysaccharide.
When last did you enjoy home-made soup made with locust bean or even eat the fermented bean raw? Locust bean is one common cooking condiment that is been phased out on tables of the educated. Hardly is this cooking condiment given its right of place on the family table again despite its many health benefits for all ages.

While the young ones need it for good eye sight, the older ones need it to drive away hypertension and its other related diseases like stroke and diabetes.

Tough to many, the fermented locust bean is merely for adding taste, but science has also corroborated its many nutritional and medicinal values.

For example, when the entire seeds and decorticated, fermented seeds were tried out in rats to find out whether it actually has any impact on controlling blood pressure, the results obtained with both preparations, found adequate doses of the two helped to decrease arterial blood pressure. In fact, the diastolic blood pressure measurement enjoyed more reduction than even the systolic blood pressure.

Importantly,  the effect of fermented locust seeds was much more than that due to the entire seeds in decreasing blood pressure in hypertensive than in those with normal blood pressure, meaning that a regular consumption of it can both reduce elevated blood pressure as well as prevent it in those with the medical problem.

The wonders of African locust bean tree are many. The pulverised bark of African locust bean tree, for instance, is employed in wound healing and serves as one of the ingredients that is used in treating leprosy. In Gambia, the leaves and roots is prepared into a solution for sore eyes too.
A decoction of the bark is used also as a bath for fever and as a hot mouth wash to steam and relieve toothache in Ivory Coast. The pulped bark is used along with lemon for wound and sores generally.

Similarly, the possible use of fermented locust bean seed in controlling diabetes and cholesterol level was also confirmed in rats by Prof. A.A. Odetola ; Dr. O.A. Akinloye; C, Egunjobi ; W.A. Adekunle and A.O. Ayoola in the latest edition of the journal, Clinical and Experimental Pharmacology and Physiology.

Using the water and alcoholic extracts of African locust bean on experimental animals, they found for example that a dietary supplementation with the extract (6g per kg of the plant extract administered orally for four weeks), ameliorated the alloxan-induced diabetes in a manner comparable with that of the reference antidiabetic drug, glibenclamide.
Water and alcoholic extracts of the fermented locust bean elicited 69.2 per cent and 64.4 per cent reductions, respectively in fasting blood sugar level compared with 70.4 per cent in 0.01mg per cent 150g glibenclamide – treated rats. Glibenclamide is a drug for controlling blood sugar level in diabetics.

In addition, high levels of HDL, the good cholesterol and low LDL, the bad cholesterol, were observed in animals treated with the water extract of locust bean, a pattern similar to that seen in normal control.

The scientists concluded based on the study that while both the water and alcoholic extracts of fermented seeds of African locust beans exact a blood sugar lowering effect, only the water extract of it can ameliorate the loss of body weight usually associated with diabetes.
Similarly, garlic is another cooking condiment that shouldn’t be over looked. Garlic is a natural agent for the treatment of hypertension, with several scientific studies to back its effectiveness.
A marked decrease in systolic blood pressure was noticed with its usage. In these rats, three doses of garlic decreased the blood pressure within 30 minutes in each case.

A preliminary report on this by Fushee D.B, Ruffin J. and Banerjee U. said that the average decrease in systolic blood pressure for the 0.1ml per kg and the 0.25ml per kg were calculated as 51.25 mmHg and 56.25 mmHg respectively. However, these doses were not sufficient to sustain the blood pressure in a normal range for more than one or two hours.

It was a 0.5ml per kg dose that ensured an average decrease of 65.7 mmHg sufficient to provoke a decrease to a normal blood pressure level and to sustain this decrease for up to 24 hours.
But the best garlic to use should be the aged type according to the researchers in the Journal of Nutrition. Even though, both the aged and raw garlic reduced an increased systolic blood pressure when compared with the control group after four weeks of using the experimental diet in the rats, the effect of aged garlic extract was also accompanied by a decrease of pulse pressure, suggesting an added advantage to use aged garlic.

Because some harmful effects were observed in the rats feed raw garlic, including a decrease in their red blood cell volume, based on the result, they then suggested that aged garlic extract may safely improve several factors that affects the heart and blood circulation, unlike raw garlic.
So when next you are cooking, remember to add plenty of fermented locust bean seed or garlic.
